NARANDULAM ALTANTSETSEG

Nalungulam Altantsetseg is a Mongolian folk songsinger who earned her bachelor's degree from the Mongolian State University of Art and Culture.

She describes singing as an artistic and profound way to communicate with nature. Art is lifeless if we are unable to interact with Mother Earth. For example, her singing embodies the geometric shapes of mountains, rivers, forests, and all the other natural phenomena. Her voice is timeless, eternal, and profoundly touching as if inviting everyone into their innermost self. Furthermore, she dedicates herself to praying for all living beings with her voice.

Her experience as a nomadic child in the steppes of Mongolia has given her the authentic wisdom of the nomadic culture. Through her singing, she aims to revalue and reconsider the spiritual art that everyone has in their hearts. She believes that we are born as humans in the cradle of nature and then return as a liquid in nature. The spiritual work of art she creates combines the intangible cultural heritage left by her ancestors with the sounds of nature. Her voice is aimed at all living beings, not just humans.

Recently, she has been interacting with other contemporary Mongolian artists and experiencing different art forms through her singing. She collaborated with Onongua Enkhtur, a visual artist, to create a variety of artworks, such as land art, public art, performance art, and outdoor installations.
